Analysis:
When I wrote this algorithm I wanted to try and have some strict and limiting rules to keep the final composition from feeling completely arbitrary. At the same time I also wanted to leave some rules open to interpretation so that there would be room for individual creativity. I feel that the algorithm and the composition were very successful. While everybody got to choose the size, alignment and pattern of their portion of the composition, there is still a strong sense of continuity throughout the whole sheet. I was concerned that there may be some people who interpreted the rules much differently then I had intended and created something much different but this did not happen.
